Historically Easter week or Holy week is the most sacred time of year for all Christians. It is the week leading up to Good Friday, where Jesus was put to death by crucifixion, then 3 days later on Easter Sunday where we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week.
Palm Sunday recalls an event described in the New Testament of Jesus entering into Jerusalem and being greeted by people waving palm branches.
For Christians, it is also a reminder of welcoming Jesus into our hearts and of our willingness to follow him.
Thursday
- or sometimes referred to as Maundy Thursday is a day when Christians commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus and the washing of his disciples' feet.
Good Friday
Good Friday is a solemn day on which Christians recall the death and suffering of Jesus who took on our sin - even though Jesus lived his life without sin, he died
so we, who believe in Him as Saviour and the Son of God, could stand one day before God clean of sin, saved by the death and resurrection of Jesus the Christ - The Son of God.
Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday is the greatest day for all Christians. While our society puts a major emphasis on Christmas, no other day is traditionally as sacred for Christians as Easter Sunday.
This is the day Christians commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ- The Son of God.
